Another Business Mistake Avoided

I have been frustrated for a while with my bookkeeping and I wanted to share with you a shortcut that I found after a lot of trial and error. Everyone who starts or runs a business has ‘better’ things to do with their time than spend hours on their accounting. All organisations have to be committed to doing their accounting if they want to avoid disaster.

When I first began my accountant advised or should I say insisted that I used a small business accounting software package supplied by an outfit called Sage Software. I immediately went out and bought the software without even contemplating if it would suit my needs. Looking back I am grateful I didn’t burn too much cash on this as this software is possibly the worst and most complex system I have ever used. To be straight with you whenever I see the word accounting next to the word software I am immediately reminded of the first wisdom I must share with you and that is just about all small business accounting software assumes you have a good working knowledge of accounting.

I had to find a solution that would work for me so reluctantly I cleared my diary and set aside quality time to find a solution. The great news is I discovered a really excellent answer, it’s an internet system known as salesorder.com.

This is possibly the simplest system I have ever found and what’s more it is net based and therefore I can use it from anywhere I want to work. And here is the coolest bit I want to tell you, the people at salesorder.com know their stuff, just like their application they are easy to work with and better still are happy to spend quality time with their users (even the free ones) helping folks like me to solve real issues in my company and to top it off they have tutored me in the accounting I need to know.
